Measat Publications Sdn Bhd recently bagged gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2009 MPA Magazine Awards. Its fastest-growing title – men’s uno did a cool sweep of the Gold and Silver awards under the Chinese Language Special Interest/Niche category, while ifeel, a fashion and beauty title, took home the Bronze award under the Chinese Language Women’s category. Internationally-renowned auto magazine, Top Gear snagged the Silver award under the English Language Special Interest/Niche category. General Manager of Measat Publications Sdn Bhd, Louis Foo said that the awards are a welcome encouragement to the publishing house, considering the rough year the industry has suffered. “It goes to show that quality and creativity does not have to be compromised even when times are hard - it makes all our hard work rewarding. We are thrilled and honored that our titles have been recognized for what they are worth,” he says. Held for the third time since its conception in 2007, the MPA Magazine Awards is aimed at giving recognition to some of the industry’s most creative work in terms of cover designs. A total of 109 magazine covers were submitted for entries this year, based on 18 different categories. Next year’s event will see Measat Publications Sdn Bhd represented by more titles, among them, the recently acquired Style, FHM and FourFourTwo magazines. |
